Treatment

A treatment is a short breif that has small details about the product in, such as; characters, problems faces (plot line) as well as some camera angles that may have importance to the short film.

Below is my first draft of my treatment, this is because as the planning and the production goes on new ideas will be used therefore a change.

1.

Title-Focus

Writer-Daisy Howson

The main character has been given the chance to prove themselves but to do that they have solve the mystery case of ’97, the missing child, however as the film unravels so does the mystery of the character having strange flashes that are linked to the case, the mystery of the ’97 never got solved because there was no mystery but only the imagination of a child and the focus mind of an adult coming together to create a world where nothing is in line.

The main characters of the short film are an adult and a child we learn nothing about them during the film maybe there name and the fact that they are the same character, from different time streams. (look to character development).

The adult is given a case, the ’97, and is told to solve the case, they travel to a city, while walking down the street they see a sign, this sends them into a flash looking at another scene the adult is in a small village they hear a girl voice they chase after the child but they end back in the city, they become scared and starts walking through the crowd still hearing the child (long shot). They bump into someone and scene flashes back to the village and they are at a gravy yard they see a name on a grave, it is the missing child and then they realise that they are the child. Last short is the child smiling, sweetly.

During the creation process problems become clear therefore the ideab that is present in this treatment maybe different to the final product. Below is the new treatment for the short film.

Titile: Focus

Author: Daisy Howson

The main character is getting ready to going for a ride on his bike however the atmosphere is gloom and something is in the air creating a bad feeling. Then the sudden noise of a crash happens making us believe that the worse has happened. However we see start to see images of the main character as well as images that seem to be in a dream state, theses inculde when the main character meet his girlfriend for the first time to there first date however this in intwined with the images of the main character as a ghost confusing the audiance more hover at the end we see that the main character has been going through his life before he has to go to heaven.
