What have you learned from your audience feedback?
From the audience feedback I was able to change and improve my short film. I asked a range of people including my target market as this allowed me to see whar my target market wants from the film as well as what other audience might want to be in the film to attract them in addition the feedback allowed me to see what things i had missed out as I would be watching it from an audience prospective rather than a filmaker therefore I was able to change the aspects that I missed.
From the audience feeback I found:
Likes
The audience that watch and evaluated my film said that they enjoyed the aspect of there being lots of different genres rather than the one and this allowed lots of different audiences to enjoy the film, in addition they said that the way that the three genres where introduced and shown in the film made it easier as audiences members to understand the themes and meanings in the film. Another aspect that they liked was the 1st act of the film as it still allowed them to understand who the characters where whereas commonly this was not seen in all short films. From this it allowed me to see what the audience was succesful as well as what parts appealed to them as an audience member therefore allowing me to know not to change these parts.
Dislikes and changes
When the audience watched the film they said what parts they did not like ot that the would change, one of which there was an inspirational aspect at the end of the film however the audience said this did not help the meaning of the film but said that maybe presenting it in a different way would help such as a small paragraphy at the end rather than a voiceover however in the end I did not include the voiceover as I did not like it. in addition another part that they said was to be changed was to add more tension music at the beginnign of the film to establish where the film is coming from.
Conclusion
From the audience feedback I was able to change the film to allow the audience to understand the film, establish the characters and the genre and in addition the meaning behind the film therefore allowing audiences to enjoy the film whether that be my target audiences or other audiences.
