Flashback

This is a small extract from Tim Burton'd film Alice In Wonderland. Even in this extract there are elements of Tim using the types of techniques that as an audiance we would see. Such as at during the whole of the extract the use of bright colours allow the audiance to see that the 'Witch' is good as  well as this the the colour white connotes purity, innocence, wholeness and completion which is shown through the 'Witch' as well. At 14s the Witch is making a potion this task is normal assiosated with witches, and at 27s the Witch creates a creepy atmosphere by smelling a finger even though she is still a 'good' witch.

This is another extract from one Tims film's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. During the flashback there is talk of different sweets such as choclate this is foreshawdowing Willy Wonkes future of wanting to work in the industry, it is shown through the close-ups of the different sweets. At 5s we see a close up of the location this allows the audiance to understand where the action is taking place.

Another aspect that Tim Burton uses in his films is the ideas of shapes weither that be the background/setting/location or the type of customes. I like the idea of shapes as it adds a shape to the film therefore allowing a shape of the film.

What I like and take inspiaration from?

From the information above on Tim Burton i have had inspiration from; the 'outcast' this is becasue it breaks conventions as the outcast is normal one of the main characters in any of Tim's films this allows the audiance to know that even when the outcast may be looked down on it does not mean that they are a bad person. Another part of Tim's films I have taken inspiration from is the 'punky' rebilliouse lady this another aspect that is braeking conventions therefore making the audiance think about the cocept of the film. I also like the idea of having different shapes in the film such as an arch or a circle.
