Below are different examples of films/TV shows that are using genre conventions:
This is a period genre; Pride and Prejudice. It goes by the conevntuions by having customes and props to fit the time frame as well as this they also use language from the time. This film also had a large budget due to all theeffects it had to use.
This is a Sci-Fi genre; Doctor Who. The TV show travels through time and space this being one of the main conventions due to this the speachal effects and the budget are huged so the audiance can enjoy the show....like I do :)
This is an action film trailer: Hitman: Agent 47. The aspects of this film is that there is large buudget due to the type of film as well as that there are other aspects such as the idea of the film; assians.
This is a clip from the film Women in Black 2; a horror genre. This film will have codes and conventions of a horror film should have such as lack of lighting and erey music.
Conclusion
From the examples above there are differnet aspects of the codes and conventions of the genre they are part of, however even though there are certain codes and coneventions that the genres should follow some films and TV programs will break the codes and convemtions this is becasue they want to bring the audiance so breaking the codes and conventions will make the audiaence suprised therefore wanting to watch more, I like this idea as it keeps the audianece on their toes as well as that I also like the aspect of not knoeing what is going to happen. In my short film i will try to break some codes and conevtions of the genre that I chose.
