Codes and conventions of a short film
Here are the codes and conventions of a short film aand how they can effect the audiance
This is a short film, below the film there is an anaylsis.
'Post it' is a short film created by Michael Evans that was created in 2014. The short film is an inspiratinal romance between two characters with minor characters, this is a code of short films due to the budget and the fact that having lots of characters can create confusion because there is no character background. Another aspect of the short film is that there are two major locations; the bench and city- this is another code of short films as it is easyer, cheaper and more relatable to have very few locations. There is a small twist in this film however it is minor compared to the plot (the guy becomes nice!!!), twists are come in short films as it is a way to keep audiances attentions for the whole film. This film has been disrubeted on YouTube, Facebook and has recently been picked up by a company in Japan, these are common places in which short films are shown.
From this short film I will take inspiratin from the use of few character, as this is a way to keep the audiance intrested, this also links to todroves theory of characters. Also from this short film I like the framing of the characters as it shows their relationship however I do not like how they use the proxemics of other characters at the end of the short film.
