Mise-en-scene
Mise-en-scene is 'what is on the screen', this includes lots of differnet aspects such as:
-
Costumes
-
Props
-
Lighting
-
Colour
-
Location
-
Setting
-
Weather
-
Time (of day)
In my short film I will have differmet aspects of these, some will have meaning behind them others will help set the atmosphere of the short film.
Custume
With having two characters I will need two different costumes so the audiance can tell the two characters apart. The child will have bright colourful clothing as well as child like clothing such as a dress, this will connote the childs innconts and playfulness via the bright colours. Whereas tha adult will be wearing all blcak biker clothing, this will show the depressed state that he is in as well as the lack of emotions he has/showing however the colour also shows that he can be classy as well as dangourse..
Props
In my short film I want to have a few props that connote to different meanings, such as; a bike to show the travel between the two worlds (as seen below)

Themes and thematic concerns
The themes in the short film will be:
Death- as this is a part of life that everyone deals with at some point in there life
Decisions- chosing wither to stay and watch over or go to heaven (to fit in with the genre)
